Yesterday, Samsung had their annual Unpacked event which was held in San Fransisco this year. Seven new products we announced which are, the Samsung Galaxy Fold, Samsung S10e, S10, S10+, Samsung Galaxy Buds, Samsung Galaxy Watch Active, and Samsung Galaxy Fit. The Samsung Buds, Active, and Fit were previously called the IconX, Gear Sport, and Gear Fit. Samsung has taken away the Gear name and is now naming everything with Galaxy.
Pre-orders have begun for the Galaxy S10 models and Galaxy Watch Active. On March 8, you will be able to buy the S10 models, Galaxy Watch Active, and Galaxy Buds. On April 26, the Galaxy Fold will be available. Samsung did not give an availability date for the Galaxy Fit, but did say it will be available in Q2 of 2019. If you pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10+, you will receive a free pair of the new Galaxy Buds (This does not include the S10e). The Galaxy Buds are only free if you purchase these phones within the dates of February 21 through March 7. And lastly for pre-orders, if you pre-order the Galaxy Watch Active, you will receive a free wireless charging pad. The same February 21 through March 7 applies to the free wireless charging pad as well.
Now that we have all of that information taken care of, let's talk about the products.
Samsung Galaxy Fold:
Samsung's newest phone that is different from any from out there is called the Galaxy Fold. This beautiful design has two displays, one is a 4.6" and the other is a 7.3". This phone also includes six cameras, one on the front, two on the tablet screen, and three on the back on the phone. The phone also includes two batteries housed in each side of the phone. It also includes 12 gigabytes of RAM. Samsung has listed the price as $1980. As written in the beginning of this post, it will be available on April 26. The Galaxy Fold has four new colors including Space Silver, Cosmos Black, Martian Green, and Astro Blue. At&T and T-Mobile plan to sell the device on launch day. No word if Sprint or Verizon will be selling this phone.
If you do plan on buying the Galaxy Fold, Samsung said during Unpacked that you can customize the side of the phone with a different color.
When opened in tablet mode, you will be able to multitask with three opened apps at a time. Samsung also said, that since this is a premium device, it will have a premium unboxing that will include its new pair of Galaxy Buds and a case.
Now, let's lastly get to the question that has been asked by a lot of people. Who's this device for? This device is meant for people who want a phone and tablet, but don't necessarily want to travel with a phone and tablet separately everywhere. And remember, this is a first generation phone, there will be problems.
Samsung Galaxy S10e, S10, and S10+:
The most rumored and renders anyone has seen has come to life in all of its glory. Samsung released its tenth anniversary phone this year, which included the Samsung Galaxy S10e, S10, and S10+. All three of these phones pack a new design and build with amazing hardware to back it up. Samsung is doing something different this year and is following Apple with three models. The pricing starts at $750 for the S10e, $899 for the S10, and $999 for the S10+. The Galaxy S10e is the lower budget model that takes away some features of the other models including, no curved screen, fingerprint sensor on the power button, and dual cameras. All models of the S10 include an Infinity-O display, a Snapdragon 855 chip, and a headphone jack.
Each model includes the following colors, Prism White, Prism Black, Prism Green, Prism Blue, and Flamingo Pink (my favorite). The S10e includes a color limited to the phone, Canary Yellow, while the S10+ has a Ceramic White and Black color. Each phone also includes a wide-angle and ultra wide-angle lens. However the S1O and S10+ have a telephoto included, in addition to the wide-angle and ultra wide-angle lenses. Battery life ranges from 3100 mAh to 4100 mAh. Samsung has also included two cameras on the front of the S10+ which includes a Selfie Camera and RGB Depth Camera. Lastly, Samsung has added an in-display fingerprint sensor for the S10 and S10+ which they are calling the Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor (On-screen).
In the box, Samsung includes a case and a pair of AKG Headsets.
Samsung has also made an S10 5G model, no information about this handset as been announced yet.
As mentioned early, the Galaxy Buds are the brand new IconX wireless earphones. Samsung has made this 30% smaller than the 2018 IconX. The Galaxy Buds are now tuned by AKG, that means the sound is going to be good. Samsung has also made Adaptive Dual Microphones that use one inner microphone and one outer microphone in each Earbud. This can deliver your voice clearly in both loud and quiet environments. The Galaxy Buds also have one more hour of battery over last years IconX. Lastly, the Galaxy Buds are now integrated with Bixby, Samsungs digital assistant. The Galaxy Buds with cost $129.99.
The Galaxy Watch Active:
The Galaxy Watch Active is Samsungs new sport watch to help people keep up their fitness goals. The watch also packs premium features that the regular Galaxy Watch includes. This watch, however loses the rotating bezel. The Galaxy Watch Active includes three major key features for a health tracking watch including, Blood Pressure Monitoring, Everyday Peace of Mind, and Easy Fitness tracking. The price starts at $199 and includes 4 colors, Silver, Black, Rose Gold, and Sea Green.
The last product to show you is the Galaxy Fit. The Galaxy Fit is similar to the Galaxy Watch Active, but in a cheaper and smaller price. Not much is to be said about this device because we talked about it with the Galaxy Watch Active. Though, we can say that this is mostly meant for the person who's at the gym or is outside running. You can still get text, email, and app notifications, as well as see if someone is calling you. Price and availability is still not available. Stay tuned for further updates.
That's all we have for you today, let us know what you think of these products and if you are going to buy one.
